New gwabbit relationship “bubble” chart unveiled at LegalTech

gwabbit Relationship Trend Line Report

gwabbit Relationship Trend Line Report

gwabbit unveiled its latest generation relationship trend line bubble chart last week at LegalTech. The new chart plots macro relationship trends between a firm and its clients, and explodes this macro view into a bubble chart that displays the individual relationship interactions that roll up into the trend line.

The bubble chart can display either interaction frequency or strength of relationship scores. Clicking on a name on an axis will collapse the display to only those people the person interacts with. Clicking on a bubble will collapse the view to interactions for both intersecting people. The chart provides at a glance information on the most robust relationships between individuals at the firm and the client.

The latest version of the trend line report is part of a new suite of relationship features demonstrated at LegalTech. These features build on gwabbit’s foundation of high-volume/high-value contact capture and update for major CRM systems. gwabbit’s latest relationship package of features include the ability to auto-populate major CRMs with relationship data captured and scored by gwabbit along with hundreds of thousands of high-value contacts.

GWABBIT DEBUTS WORLD’S FIRST AUTOMATIC CONTACT CLOUD

March 22nd, 2010

2009 DEMOGOD WINNER GWABBIT DEBUTS WORLD’S FIRST AUTOMATIC CONTACT CLOUD AT DEMO SPRING 2010

gwab-o-sphere Automatically Syncs with Key Contact Repositories; Acts as a “Universal Remote Control” for all Your Contacts

DEMO Spring 2010, Palm Desert, CA – March 22, 2010 – gwabbit, LLC, the only provider of automated solutions for the contact cloud, today announced gwab-o-sphere™, the world’s first automatic contact cloud. Acting as a “universal remote control” for all your contacts, the gwab-o-sphere automatically receives contacts from gwabbit contact capture products, and then syncs with key contact repositories and social networks like Salesforce.com®, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The gwab-o-sphere automatically monitors contacts for changes, maintaining the most current and accurate source of contacts available. The gwab-o-sphere also offers the ability to mash-up its contact data with key communications service providers like FreeConference.com. The gwab-o-sphere can be seen at booth #36 during DEMO Spring 2010. gwabbit also announced today its partnership with FreeConference.com (See separate announcement titled, Gwabbit Teams With FreeConference.com).

The gwab-o-sphere contact cloud is the latest from 2009 DEMOgod winner gwabbit®, maker of award-winning gwabbit contact capture products for Outlook® and BlackBerry®, which automatically search and identify contacts embedded in emails and adds or updates that information to your address book.

“gwabbit wowed us at last year’s DEMO with its elegantly useful contact management solution,” said Matt Marshall, Executive Producer of DEMO. “With gwab-o-sphere, they are taking it to the next level with a cloud-powered contact management solution that allows users to keep all their contacts— wherever that information lives— updated automatically in real-time.”

A Universal Remote for Contact Management

Today the challenge of keeping your contacts updated and synced is compounded by the many devices, social networks and databases people use to store their contact information. The typical person can have their contacts stored on their smartphone, Outlook address book, CRM database and various social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. Keeping this information current and in sync is an onerous and manual task that most people don’t bother with or do poorly.

This is where gwabbit contact capture products come in. Contacts grabbed by gwabbit for Outlook and BlackBerry are automatically added to the gwab-o-sphere, and then synced with contact repositories and social networks like Salesforce.com, Facebook, etc. The gwab-o-sphere then allows all the various contact repositories to “talk” to each other so contacts can be automatically added and updated, ensuring that they are always current no matter where the information lies.

“The gwab-o-sphere solves a nagging problem in contact management that no one has been able to answer until today,” said Todd Miller, president and founder, gwabbit. “How do you keep your contacts fresh, current and synced without tedious and time-consuming manual updates? The gwab-o-sphere is the only solution that does this all automatically so you don’t have to.”

Pricing and Availability

The gwab-o-sphere will be available in Q2 2010 free of charge to all gwabbit users, including gwabbit for Outlook and the Premium and free versions of gwabbit for BlackBerry, and can be downloaded from www.gwabbit.com or BlackBerry App World www.blackberry.com/appworld.

September 22nd, 2009

San Francisco, CA – August 31, 2009 – gwabbit, LLC, the only provider of automatic email contact management (ECM) solutions for the contact cloud today announced that the company has achieved profitability only six months after its product launch at DEMO ’09.

“In these challenging economic times, it is an impressive achievement to bring a technology start-up to profitability in such a short period,” said Chris Shipley, chairman and CEO, Guidewire Group. “To do it without the benefit of outside venture capital is remarkable. gwabbit is a strong proof point that priced software remains a viable—and perhaps most viable—business model.”

gwabbit launched its flagship product, gwabbit for Outlook, at DEMO ’09 in March, winning a DEMOgod award, the highest honor bestowed by the nation’s premier technology conference for launching startup companies. gwabbit followed up in May with the launch of its first mobile product, gwabbit for BlackBerry. The gwabbit products use semantic technology to automatically scan incoming emails, identify and grab embedded contact information, and import it into the user’s address book with one click. gwabbit has garnered both industry and user acclaim.

“By achieving profitability in such a brief time, without the benefit of venture capital, gwabbit is demonstrating a new paradigm for technology start-ups for the new economy, with a focus on efficiency and productivity,” said Todd Miller, president and founder of gwabbit. “Companies can be successfully launched and grown without millions in venture investments and years of losses.”

Miller attributes gwabbit’s rapid ascent to profitability to a combination of solid user-intuitive product offerings, a back-to-basics revenue model, and lean and mean business practices, such as virtual officing. Miller is pioneer in virtual officing, launching one of the world’s first successful 100% virtual companies, WebFeat, in 1998.

Amazing True Stories of gwabbit in Action! Merzbach Law Case Study

July 22nd, 2009

Merzbach Law

Merzbach Law has always prided itself on being “business lawyers with an uncommon amount of business sense.” Based in Rochester, New York, Merzbach Law specializes in corporate law with a focus on a sensible, problem solving approach that aligns closely with clients’ business goals and objectives. Founded by Ralph Merzbach in 1998, the firm’s strategic goal continues to be to cover the legal territory that is of core interest to businesses and their owners, and to institutionalize skills, work habits and methods that support businesslike approaches to business law projects.

The challenge

In many businesses, contacts are king. The legal profession is no exception. Ironically, law offices have traditionally housed critical case information and contacts in archaic filing systems requiring searches through files every time information was needed on a client—with no guarantee that the information was the most current. The challenge of keeping information up-to-date can be compounded by multiple lawyers and administrative assistants “touching” the data at various points.

Having previously worked for a large law firm for twenty years, Ralph knew right from the beginning that he didn’t want a 19th century law office for the 21st century. Ralph didn’t want to have information for contacts, billing, case information, etc. entered separately into disparate database systems. Instead, he wanted to create a centralized database to house all client and case information to ensure that critical information was easily available and up to date. His firm adopted a networked practice management database, Amicus Attorney that synchronizes with MS Outlook contacts to serve this purpose. Still, this left firm personnel with the onerous task of entering vast amounts of contact data, and required them to manually update revised contact information.

The solution

merzbach-case-studyEnter gwabbit. gwabbit streamlines the management of new relationships and the updating of existing ones, allowing users to efficiently maintain a centralized current address book without the time-consuming chore of cutting and pasting. The email contact management solution automatically scans incoming Outlook emails, finds new or updated contacts, and instantly transforms them into contact records within the address book.

Ralph felt that gwabbit provided the functionality that he needed to streamline the data flow process at his firm. Acting as a gateway to the law firm’s networked practice management database, Amicus Attorney, gwabbit is often the first point of entry for Ralph’s new contacts. “With any new client, opposing counsel or other contacts, I ask them to send me an email. gwabbit then grabs the new client’s person’s contact information and automatically adds it to my address book. From there, the new information flows into my other databases for case information, billing, etc. Without losing billable time with administrative work or billing clients for menial tasks, we’ve added and updated all of our databases—effortlessly,” says Ralph.

Beyond initiating new contacts, gwabbit is invaluable in keeping all Ralph’s contact information up to date. “I love that gwabbit is always looking for updated information. In my business, contact updates can be critical to the legal services we provide. For instance, we might have a client that requires we use his personal email instead of professional email due to a pending case against a client’s company. With gwabbit, we’re able to update that information quickly across all of out networked databases. Beyond the time savings, it gives me peace of mind that we are always working with the most current information.”

“Our motto at Merzbach Law has always been ‘enter it once, enter it right, and keep it updated in one place’,” Ralph adds. “That’s the only way to run a business with so much critical data. gwabbit has allowed us to make good on that vision.”
