GWABBIT ANNOUNCES RESELLER AGREEMENT WITH LEXISNEXIS TO OFFER HIGH-PERFORMANCE GWABBIT ENTERPRISE SERVER AS ADD-ON TO INTERACTION CRM

August 21, 2011 — CARMEL VALLEY, CA – gwabbit (www.gwabbit.com) the world’s
leading provider of automated email contact and relationship capture solutions today announced a reseller agreement with LexisNexis (www.lexisnexis.com) to offer the gwabbit Enterprise Server™ as an add-on to LexisNexis® InterAction®, a leading Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application for professional services. The agreement, announced at the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) annual conference, will enable InterAction users to leverage gwabbit technology to automatically extract up-to-date and accurate contact data from the “signature block” of email messages and import that data directly into InterAction.

gwabbit Enterprise Server was originally developed for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom
LLP, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms with a rich history of leadership
in law firm technology.

The combination of gwabbit and LexisNexis InterAction solves a fundamental problem with all
CRM deployments – how to capture up-to-date and accurate contact information. gwabbit
Enterprise Server goes beyond traditional synchronization with user address book entries,
enabling accurate capture of contact information directly from the “signature block” commonly
used within email messages.

“Companies invest tremendous resources into building and maintaining their CRM systems, yet
their contact sourcing is incomplete, and continuously out-of-date,” said Todd Miller, CEO of
gwabbit. “It’s like investing in plumbing without a fresh water supply. Through our relationship
with LexisNexis, gwabbit Enterprise Server will supply the industry leading CRM solution with
an abundance of current contact information.”

“gwabbit Enterprise Server turbocharges InterAction by automatically driving high volumes of
current contact data into the most powerful CRM system on the market,” said Michael Lipps,
vice president and managing director, Legal Business Software Solutions for LexisNexis. “This
powerful collaboration enables law firms to significantly increase the scope and efficacy of their
client development initiatives.”

Please visit LexisNexis booth 603 at ILTA for more information.

Just released! gwabbit for Outlook v.1.2

December 16th, 2010

Our gwabbit ears have read you loud and clear! We are excited to announce the release of gwabbit for Outlook v.1.2, including new features you’ve been asking for.

The award-winning gwabbit for Microsoft Outlook and BlackBerry automatically finds, gwabs and adds contacts from your emails to your address book with a single mouse click!

Filter domains - this feature lets you filter out emails from domains you pick, selectively disabling the gwabbit alert from popping up for spam, etc.

Choose your save folder - now you can save contacts in any folder, not just the default

64-bit support - gwabbit now supports both 32 and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Outlook

Improved internationalization - gwabbit now recognizes the “+” sign in phone numbers

Cloud-enabled - gwabbit can now automatically handshake with our upcoming “gwab-o-sphere” contact cloud. The gwab-o-sphere will be the world’s first automatic contact cloud, enabling you to sync contacts with your key contact repositories, like Salesforce

Better contact recognition - including suffixes, like Esq, CPA, and MD

gwabbit contact indicator - lets you see which contacts were gwabbed by gwabbit. This is a new contact field that can be seen by selecting “All Fields” in a contact form.

gwabbit Alerts - this optional feature lets colleagues and friends know when you’ve added their contact to your address book. More about gwabbit Alerts can be found here.

You can get the upgrade here, or from the gwabbit toolbar, click on Options, then Upgrade.

You should install the version that is compatible with your version of Office. If you do not yet have Office 2010, you should install the 32-bit version of the application. If you do have Office 2010, you need to determine whether you have the 64 or 32-bit version. Note that the 64-bit version is for users with Office 64-bit. Users on 64-bit Windows with 32-bit Office should use the 32-bit version of gwabbit.

In other words, the bitness needs to match the bitness of Office, not the bitness of Windows.

To determine the bitness of your Office 2010 installation, in Outlook 2010, click on File + Help. The bitness of the application is specified there, under “About Microsoft Outlook”. If you are running a 64-bit version of Office, you need to install the 64-bit version of gwabbit. Otherwise, install the 32-bit version of gwabbit.

We are very excited to provide these enhancements to you, and hope that this makes gwabbit even more useful as you use it to build your address book! Please continue to provide us with your feedback and enhancement requests, we want gwabbit to be the best productivity tool it can be. If you need assistance with your upgrade, or have any questions or comments, feel free to contact our support department at support@gwabbit.com.

About our gwabbit Alerts…

December 10th, 2010

It’s been a year now since we first started sending our gwabbit alerts as part of our Free gwabbit for BlackBerry product. Obviously, we were all very curious to know how the alerts would be received. Frankly, the results have exceeded our expectations – we have information to share for the first time here.

gwabbit-alerts

First some stats:

Opt-outs – only .16% of all alert recipients opt out of the alerts. Based on this, combined with comments we’ve received, the vast majority of alert recipients (over 99.8%) like to know when a colleague or friend has added their contact information to their address book.

Complaints – less than 1/1000th of 1% of recipients have complained about the alerts – fewer than one in 100,000 recipients.

It’s true that when we started the alerts, we hoped that we would see a promotional benefit from this additional exposure. gwabbit is a small business that does not have the benefit of tens of millions in VC funding. We are growing our company organically, which means that we have needed to get creative about promoting our products.

And yes, it’s also true that we have seen a positive effect from the alerts. One percent of alert recipients download trial versions of gwabbit, and over a third of those purchase the product. We are indeed very appreciative of this. It’s challenging to grow a little company in today’s economic environment, and we can use all the help we can get.

In spite of the promotional aspect of the alerts, we do not believe that they would be either as successful or as popular if they were not viewed as being useful in some way. Most seem to find them useful. Remarkably, several Free gwabbit users have emailed to let us know that the reason they have not purchased the premium version is because it does not have an alert function.

Based on the response we’ve seen over the past year, we’ve made the decision to include the alerts as an option on our Premium gwabbit for Outlook product, as well as our free gwabbit for BlackBerry product. The difference between the products is simple: the alert function on gwabbit Outlook has an “off” switch – the free version of gwabbit for BlackBerry does not.

The Alert comes switched “Off.” I would like to ask you to turn it “On” and let your colleagues and friends know when you’ve added them to your address book – based on the response we’ve seen so far, most will be glad you did. Of course, all of us at gwabbit appreciate it too.

Please keep in mind that recipients can opt-out at any time. If they do, they will not receive another alert from gwabbit.

Thank you very much for using gwabbit — we greatly appreciate your support.
